Bountiful Garden Foundation

The Bountiful Garden Foundation is a 100% volunteer run humanitarian relief organization that raises money for treat post traumatic stress after earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, etc.  Please kindly help support our cause through a cash donation*.

The BGF story Three years ago, our world had just undergone 5 cataclysmic catastrophes in just a short ten month time span.  We had the Pakistani Earthquake, The Box Cutter Day Tsunami, Hurricanes Wilma and Rita and of course, Hurricane Katrina.  Out of the outpouring of a sympathy for what the survivors of these events were left to cope with, some friends and I decided to create an organization that was designed specifically to help these victims' state of mind.  We figured that the Red Cross could handle the food, clothing and the cots and that FEMA could handle the portables and infrastructure issues but what good are cots if people can't sleep and what good is food if the people are unable to digest it?  So we started the Bountiful Garden Foundation to raise money specifically to treat post traumatic stress and we earmark our funds to organizations with scientifically proven stress reduction methods and techniques.  In our first year of operation, in 2006, we raised $10,000 for Hurricane Katrina relief and over the past three years, on top of money donated to treat trauma victims, we've donated thousands of dollars worth of produce and tomato plants to local bay area agencies, etc.

We have thousands of nice tomato seedlings that we'd like to give away to organizations that help others.  In the spirit of "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for life", instead of just giving shelters food, if we donate plants, these people will gain the satisfaction and confidence of learning to grow their own food and gardening is also very therapeutic.On our list of recipients for our plants include:

• At risk and battered children centers
• Autistic Kids Programs
• Abused Women's Shelters
• Low Income Senior Centers 
• Halfway houses

The Bountiful Garden Foundation raises money for humanitarian relief efforts by giving every penny we earn, through selling fruits and vegetables, directly to relief organizations.

BGF has the capacity of raising ten's of thousands of dollars for humanitarian relief efforts and the more operational funds we have, the more money we'll be able to raise so please help support us

.We could also use donations in the form of land for growing/greenhouse, shovels, vehicles and pickup trucks and other farm equipment.

We have many expansion plans including an urban greenhouses that we can use to increase our ability to sell and grow plants. 

In 2009, BGF is expanding to over 50 cities in the U.S. and perhaps several countries in North and South America so we could really use your help.
